EasyBib: Free Automatic Bibliography Composer – MLA and APA Formatting

EasyBib: Free Automatic Bibliography Composer – MLA and APA Formatting
http://www.easybib.com/

The EasyBib folks understand the burdensome task of composing a bibliography. After finishing a paper, no one wants to go through the process of looking up the many different formats to cite their individual sources. Placing colons in one place, periods in another, and deciding when and where to underline is both confusing and frustrating. They designed EasyBib to solve these problems. By providing them with the information you know about your sources, they can properly format, alphabetize, and print your citation list. They have used EasyBib themselves, and personally vouch for its performance: it cuts down bibliography creation time from one half to two thirds. This has been added to the tools section of Research Resources Subbject Tracer™ Information Blog.

Russian Journal of Genetics

Russian Journal of Genetics
http://www.springerlink.com/content/1608-3369/

The Russian Journal of Genetics (Genetika) was founded in 1965, soon after the end of Lysenkos era, a time during which genetics was considered a false, reactionary science. Since its inception, the journal has made a significant contribution to the revival of genetics in the former Soviet Union. The journal publishes reviews and experimental papers in the areas of theoretical and applied genetics. It presents fundamental research on genetic processes at the molecular, cell, organism, and population levels. Special attention is paid to the most topical areas in modern genetics dealing with global concerns: the conservation and rational management of genetic resources and the evaluation, prediction, and prevention of the negative effects of environmental pollution. The journal also publishes papers dedicated to events in Russian science and the history of genetics. This has been added to Biological Informatics Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.

Thinkature – Real-time Collaboration for the Web
http://www.thinkature.com/

Thinkature brings the richness of in-person, visual communication to the web by placing instant messaging inside a visual workspace. Use it as a collaboration environment, a meeting room, a personal web-based whiteboard, or something entirely new. With Thinkature, you can create a collaborative workspace and invite coworkers, friends, and colleagues to join you in just seconds. Once inside your workspace, you can communicate by chatting, drawing, creating cards, and adding content from around the Internet. It’s all synchronous, too – no need to hit reload or get an editing lock. Like paper and a pencil, the possible uses for Thinkature are limitless. You can use it to plan your next major product or your next great party. Or you could lay out a new organization chart or the floor plan for your next apartment. You might also gather information about your competitors or your next vacation destination. Because Thinkature runs inside your web browser, you can get at your data from anywhere. Whether you’re in your office, at home, or on the road, your data is easy to get at and use. There’s no special software, so you (and all of your guests) can join a workspace instantly and without worrying about versions, operating systems, or firewalls.
