Eyejot – Free Video Messaging In a Blink
http://eyejot.com/

Video messages anywhere, anytime … Eyejot has combined the best of what email and live video chat each have to offer and has created a platform that’s remarkably easy to use and works with any web browser, on any platform. Email is effective because it’s easy and you can create something that can be read anytime in the future. Video chatting is great because it’s visual. You can impart emotion, tone and energy. But, very often the person you want to chat with isn’t online at the same time. Maybe they’re even in a different time zone. With Eyejot you truly get the best of both worlds. You can be sending video messages to your friends, family and business colleagues, literally, in seconds. The Eyejot difference is that there’s no software to install! Educational Action Research

Educational Action Research
http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/title~content=t716100708

Educational Action Research is a fully-refereed international journal concerned with exploring the unity between educational research and practice. Increasing interest in action research in recent years has been accompanied by the development of a number of different approaches: a) for example, to promote reflective practice; professional development; b) empowerment; understanding of tacit professional knowledge; c) curriculum development; d) institutional change; and e) development of democratic management and administration. Proponents of all these share the common aim of ending the dislocation of research from practice, an aim which links them with those involved in participatory research and action inquiry. This journal publishes accounts of a range of action research and related studies, in education and across the professions, with the aim of making their outcomes widely available and exemplifying the variety of possible styles of reporting. It aims to establish and maintain a review of the literature of action research. It also provides a forum for dialogue on the methodological and epistemological issues, enabling different approaches to be subjected to critical reflection and analysis. The impetus for Educational Action Research comes from CARN, the Collaborative Action Research Network, and it is hoped by means of the journal to extend and strengthen this international network.

WiPeer – Serverless Peer to Peer Collaboration

WiPeer – Serverless Peer to Peer Collaboration
http://www.wipeer.com/

WiPeer enables sharing files directly among computers, playing multi-player games, chatting, and collaboration over both Wi-Fi and home/office networks. WiPeer was born as a research project at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, to provide peer-to-peer Wi-Fi and home/office networking based collaborative applications such as multiplayer interactive games, chat, search, file sharing, and eventually also collaborative productivity tools. This is through direct communication between the devices and without going through any third party infrastructure or gateway, and without relying on a central server. WiPeer helps to establish ad-hoc communities/social networks and find people from your network when they are nearby. The WiPeer community is growing fast. WiPeer offers a simple collaboration with nearby people. Features include: a) Ad-Hoc Social Networks – WiPeer enables users to define personal profiles, and to view other on-line users profiles. This way, it is possible to meet people with similar interests; b) Friends Locator – WiPeer enables users to define a list of contact persons. Whenever one of the contact persons connects into the network, WiPeer notifies the user about it; c) Interactive Multiplayer Games – WiPeer comes bundled with several multiplayer games including Chess, Chinese Checkers, Reversi, and Connect 4; d) Chat (Instant Messaging) – With WiPeer, it is possible to chat with other on-line users. WiPeer supports both private chats (with specific users) and public chat rooms to which any user may join; e) File Sharing – File sharing becomes a breeze with WiPeer. You may share both files and complete folders either to a specific user or to anyone in your network; f) File Searching – WiPeer supports searching for files located in the computers of other users in the network. The search is guaranteed to return only files that were shared with the searching party. Also, WiPeer accomplishes this goal without exporting the index outside any computer, so this feature does not compromise the privacy of WiPeer users; g) Creating Ad-Hoc Networks – Ad-hoc networks are formed between two or more laptops equipped with WiFi without reliance on any access-point or other third party infrastructure. In particular, there are no connection fees and no dependence on hot-spot availability. In other words, they can be formed anywhere, including in airlanes, trains, busses, etc. This has been added to the P2P section of Deep Web Research Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.

WIKISKY – Consolidating Astronomical, Astrophysical and Other Space Objects

WIKISKY – Consolidating Astronomical, Astrophysical and Other Space Objects
http://www.wikisky.org/

WIKISKY is a non-commercial project. The main purpose of WIKISKY is to consolidate astronomical, astrophysical and other information about different space objects and astrophysical facts. They hope to achieve this purpose using the principle of visualization. When a person reads an article about a star, the star is only the abstraction for that reader. The person cannot emotionally feel the reality of the star without actually seeing it. They strive to create an extremely detailed sky map to help everybody to better understand the information gathering about any space object and various phenomena connected with those space objects.
