International Journal of Transdisciplinary Research (IJTR)

International Journal of Transdisciplinary Research (IJTR)
http://www.ijtr.org/Default.htm

The journal is concerned with extending and integrating the study of economics with disciplines within the natural and social sciences, as well as the humanities. International Journal of Transdisciplinary Research (IJTR) is a journal where alternative frameworks can be disseminated and argued to develop a unifying vision of an economic paradigm that realistically portrays economic systems as a whole. They feel that there needs to be a revolution in the field of economics, to develop new approaches to real world problems. Because economics is intertwined in almost every field of research, they are looking for transdisciplinary research. If science wishes to contribute to solving these real world issues, transdisciplinary collaboration and communication becomes necessary. Therefore, IJTR is a platform for the practice of transdisciplinary research. As such, IJTR is a journal for article submissions on epistemological issues such as:

(1) Sustainability,
(2) Social Multicriteria Evaluations,
(3) Ecological Economics and the Biophysical Foundations of Economics,
(4) Systems Research, and
(5) Complexity and Post Normal Science.

If your research does not fall into these broad categories, then IJTR is not the place to submit your article. The journal is for the constructive argument and the development of alternative ways to govern sustainability. Furthermore, we seek research articles from colleagues in fields other than economics on how economic systems really work.

China-America Digital Academic Library (CADAL)

China-America Digital Academic Library (CADAL)
http://www.cadal.cn/enc/

The objective of this [2004 – ed.] project is to create a free-to-read, searchable collection of one million books, primarily in the English language, available to everyone over the Internet. This task is accomplished by scanning the books and indexing their full text. The text file is created, where possible, through optical character recognition. The result will be a unique resource accessible to anyone in the world 24x7x365, without regard to nationality or socioeconomic background. Typical large high-school libraries house fewer than 30,000 volumes. One million volumes is the approximate size of the combined libraries at Carnegie Mellon University. The total number of different titles indexed in OCLC’s WorldCat is about 48 million. One million books, therefore, is more than the holdings of any high-school, equivalent to the library at a substantial university and a significant fraction of all available books. […] National Science Foundation is providing funding for Scanners, Computers, Servers, and Software. These resources from NSF are augmented by almost twenty to one since China and India will be providing the necessary manpower (2,000 man years each, over a four year period).” This has been added to Reference Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.

Reference Chat Libraries – Global Listing
http://liswiki.org/wiki/Chat_reference_libraries

This list is for libraries with some form of synchronous or chat reference services. An exhaustive list of libraries offering other virtual reference services is nowadays akin to a list of libraries that offer telephone service; to search the thousands of library sites which employ e-mail links or simple web feedback forms, see Libweb. Groups of libraries broader than the individual institutions (individual libraries, libraries within the same university system, or public library county branch system) are shown in bold. Listed by country, state, and then alphabetically by institution (or service name for cooperatives). Vendor information and other notes are listed when possible. 99% is the research arm of Behance, a company dedicated to organizing the creative world to make ideas happen. The creation of 99%, which was launched with their inaugural conference in 2009, sprung from the belief that, as creative professionals, they often focus too much on idea generation and not enough on execution. To get to the crux of the forces behind idea execution, 99% regularly interviews prominent and emerging creative professionals known for their high level of productivity. Based on their interviews, they publish a regular series of articles, tips, and videos on their website, which offers insight into how especially productive teams and people make their ideas happen, time and time again. Personality and Mental Health
http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/114298425/home

At the cusp of a rapid expansion, clinically, academically, legally and politically, the field of personality and mental health is an emerging area of research that currently covers three distinct literatures: DSM-IV/ICD-10 defined personality disorders, psychopathy and offending behaviour. Providing leadership in this new, emerging field, Personality and Mental Health: Multidisciplinary Studies from Personality Dysfunction to Criminal Behaviour will define more clearly, not merely react to, the field and disciplines involved in research into personality and mental health and for the first time unite the three literatures. Through its multi-disciplinary and service orientated approach, Personality and Mental Health will provide an authoritative source of information for researchers, practitioners and policy makers working in the field of personality and mental health. The Journal seeks to encourage exchange amongst individuals and groups working in the field, as well as debate amongst opinion formers and policy makers in this high profile area. It will also seek to encourage innovation and provide a platform for the publication of new approaches to treatment, assessment and service delivery. The journal will publish:

* a clinical case in each issue, with invited commentary by, for example, lawyers, ethicists, service users etc.
* reviews and original research articles including rapid communications
* a correspondence section as the journal becomes established
* a limited book review section, expanding as demand dictates

The scope of the Journal will encompass the following:

* Service evaluation and development: including the evaluation of current treatment and assessment protocols, classification and aetiology, the development and trialling of innovative interventions including psychological, psychiatric, pharmacological, social care and self-management and the review and development of delivery models and services.
* Organisational evaluation and development: including assessment of the organisational capacity of service units and the working practices of staff, the impact of different organisational strategies on the type, level and quality of services delivered.
* Law, policy and ethics: including review and critical analysis of new criminal justice, social care and Human Rights legislation and its application to people with personality disorders and the analysis of policy developments.
* Research methodology, research practice and dissemination: including the development of innovative methodologies and research practices targeting hard to reach and over-researched groups and innovative as well as standard methods of dissemination.
* Education and training: including professional, service user and carer education and training and wider curriculum development.
