LinkDoozer – The Best of Everything
http://www.linkdoozer.com/

This directory is loosely organized around tags, which gives it a flat structure that makes it perfect for exploring. If you find a website you like, the site will also show you similar sites so you can navigate your way through the directory without having a frustrating search through an arbitrary, rigid directory structure. Their mission is to create a stimulating and engaging environment that allows people to discover suitable websites and web pages based on their interests. By providing exciting and diverse content, linkdoozer can help readers make genuinely good browsing decisions. Because their content focuses on quality websites of great value and interest and not volume, readers can enjoy the process of discovery knowing that they are only exposed to high quality websites. Any of our users can also rate and review each public website on linkdoozer, which means that only genuinely popular websites will bubble up to the top and appear in their top ten lists. It’s a democratic and unbiased way of deciding the best websites around. linkdoozer offers a far more adventurous and satisfying way to browse, plus its all bundled into a next generation web browsing environment. Zentity 2.0 is a semantically enabled repository platform that provides a suite of building blocks, tools, and services to create and maintain an organization’s digital-library ecosystem. The research life cycle generates a wide variety of outputs that are important to store and track as part of the ongoing research process. Zentity maximizes the value of this output by helping researchers access, analyze, and unlock the previously hidden structure and relationships among data elements. With Zentity, researchers can extend existing data models by adding additional relationships and properties to these relationships. Zentity is flexible and extensible, taking advantage of the optimization and performance available from Microsoft SQL Server. Zentity provides a built-in ScholarlyWorks data model with pre-defined entities—such as lecture, publication, paper, presentation, video, file, person, and tag—along with basic properties for each of these and well known relationships—such as author, city, and version. The platform also provides support to create custom entities and design custom data models by using their Extensibility API. This has been added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.

Do you need to display and analyze a network graph but you don’t want to deal with difficult applications, arcane file formats, or advanced programming languages? NodeXL may be what you’re looking for. NodeXL is a template for Excel 2007 and 2010 that lets you enter a network edge list, click a button, and see the network graph, all in the Excel window. You can easily customize the graph’s appearance; zoom, scale and pan the graph; dynamically filter vertices and edges; alter the graph’s layout; find clusters of related vertices; and calculate a set of graph metrics. Networks can be imported from and exported to a variety of data formats, and built-in connections for getting networks from Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and your local email are provided.
