iBillionaire Index (BILLION)

March 31, 2014

iBillionaire Index (BILLION)
http://www.ibillionaire.me/

The iBillionaire Index (BILLION) is designed to track and measure the performance those who have, over time, reaped the biggest rewards on Wall Street: financial billionaires. The index monitors the portfolios of leading billionaire investors, such as Warren Buffett, Carl Icahn, Daniel Loeb, David Tepper and David Einhorn. It is composed of the top 30 large-cap equities listed on the S&P 500 in which these financial billionaires have allocated the most funds, providing ample trading liquidity, and well-known benchmark, and better results to equity indexation than capitalization-weighted indices. Devised from 13F filings, the iBillionaire Index provides investors an efficient and effective way to follow the smart money. In essence, the index works as though one gathered a group of billionaires and asked them to come to a consensus as to which S&P 500 stocks are the best bets. eBooks at GPO
http://fdlp.gov/377-projects-active/1886-ebooks-gpo

To help meet the needs of the Federal Depository Library (FDL) community, the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) has made eBooks available in the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (CGP). These titles are joining the growing number of online resources that have been a vital part of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) for over 20 years. Users can download GPO-provided files of eBooks free of charge, for use on various eBook reading devices. GPO’s goal is to expand and provide greater access to U.S. Federal Government content. eBook titles can be accessed via catalog records available in the CGP. Catalog records include descriptive information, as well as Persistent Uniform Resource Locators (PURLs) that link to the eBook titles. PURLs provide web links that can be reliably cited in other publications. Each CGP record displays the available formats for a title—.mobi, .epub, as well as other digital formats. Every month, newly-acquired eBook titles are added to the CGP for public access. This will be added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog. Topicgrazer – Graze On Web Pages and Documents

Topicgrazer – Graze On Web Pages and Documents
http://www.topicscape.com/Topicgrazer/help.php

Graze on web pages and documents . . . take just what you want . . . Topicgrazer quietly builds a document in the background with the text and images that you choose. And it keeps a record of which web sites you copied, for future reference. Topicgrazer is a Windows program and uses a familiar keystroke for each item to be saved, and you don’t have to leave the web page or document you’re reading. Imagine holding a virtual highlighter in your hand as you read web pages, documents, or PDF files. You highlight sections of text you want to save and indicate images to preserve, and with a familiar keystroke, send them to Topicgrazer. It works with web sites, text, Word documents, PDF files, spreadsheets and more – anything, in fact, that can be saved to the clipboard. Each snippet is headed with its source if it came from a web site or Word, for example. All the portions you select are extracted and gathered in one place until you decide to finish and save the document. Typeform – Making Asking Questions East, Human and Beautiful

March 28, 2014

Typeform – Making Asking Questions East, Human and Beautiful
http://www.typeform.com/

They built Typeform because they wanted to democratize the way people answer questions on screens by making the process more human & more engaging. Early on, they realized that if you provide a space that champions user experience and good design, you would naturally draw the user into being more willing to answer and more likely to give honest answers. So they set out to re-invent the old way of gathering data by ditching everything they knew about online forms and surveys … including check boxes, radio buttons, labels and much of the rules that Jakob Nielsen (the overlord of user experience) would gasp at the thought of getting rid of. Thus, the “typeform” was born: a nimble, fast & surprisingly sexy way to ask questions to your users, customers & peers, on any device. They spared no effort in building a platform that would allow anyone to create typeforms intuitively & effortlessly. They wanted to make sure that the people who would be creating typeforms would enjoy making them as much as the users that would fill them in. They are now a team of 17 pushing Typeform forward and today they are going to start their own revolution: a new Web where answering questions doesn’t have to be boring, a new Web where companies, brands and individuals can wear their identity & values on their sleeves whilst collecting data … at least that’s the plan. Join them, Ask Awesomely! This has been added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog. This will be added to Entreprenurial Resources Subject Tracer™.

ScissorsFly – Your Web Clipper and Scrapbook

ScissorsFly – Your Web Clipper and Scrapbook
https://www.scissorsfly.com/

In the spirit of freedom and creativity, they designed Scissorsfly. For the first time ever, you will be equipped with something that frees your imagination to creatively collect and organize everything you love on the web, and share them with friends. Scissorsfly originates from an open hackathon hosted at LinkedIn, when Sillicon Valley tech talents from places like Google, Twitter, LinkedIn, or CMU, MIT, Stanford, Berkerly came to play. They won the championship with the idea called ClipIt, which becomes the magic scissors at your hand today. Web 1.0 gave you static webpages. Web 2.0 gives you interactions and collaborations with the web and the world. Scissorsfly will give you not only that, but also the initiative to tailor the web at will. It will be an experience beyond the long lasting web 2.0… This will be added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.
