Form – Instant Native Prototypes

December 31, 2014

Form – Instant Native Prototypes
http://www.relativewave.com/form.html

Many design tools today are static. Interaction and animation remains trapped in the mind of the designer. There is no easy way to iterate on these ideas, or to communicate them to others. Form is an attempt to solve this problem. The tool lets you build custom prototypes directly on the device. Form prototypes are native. They have access to the device’s camera and other sensors. Prototypes built with Form are as powerful as their coded counterparts. Forms apps run directly on the device. You can run prototypes on multiple devices all in real-time. Compositions update instantly as you work, without restarting. Form is powered by Relative interface — a high performance graphics framework for iOS. It aims to bring the power of OpenGL to iOS apps with a simple, familiar and powerful API. Form is not a new way to do the old, it’s a new way to do the new. It’s as expressive as code, without the same complexity. As you start to experiment and play with Form, it will change the way you think about interaction design. You Are Here – Study of Place

December 30, 2014

You Are Here – Study of Place
http://youarehere.cc/

Every day for the next year, we will make a map of a city in which we have lived. Each of these maps will be an aggregation of thousands of microstories, tracing the narratives of our collective experience. We will make maps of the little things that make up life — from the trees we hug, to the places where we crashed our bikes, to the benches where we fell in love. Over time, we will grow this to 100 different maps of 100 different cities, creating an atlas of human experience. We hope that by showing these stories, we empower people to make their city — and therefore the world — a more beautiful place. You Are Here is a project of the Social Computing Group at the MIT Media Lab. This will be added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog. Fakena.me – Generates Random Fake Names, Addresses, Usernames, Passwords and eMail Address
https://fakena.me/

Generate a random fake name, address, username, password, and (usable) email address for use with online message boards, social media, or whatever else. Fakena.me lets you save the random profile generated for 30 days so you can bookmark it and return. After 30 days, the profile is deleted. The idea is that, to improve online privacy, you should change your username and email address frequently so sites don’t build a history of your activities. Of course, this is only a small part of the things that you can do to improve online privacy, but it’s a good start. This will be added to Privacy Resources Subject Tracer™.
