PREFORMA – Future Memory Standards
http://www.preforma-project.eu/

PREFORMA, PREservation FORMAts for culture information/e-archives, is a new Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) project started on January 1st, 2014, and co-funded by the European Commission under its FP7-ICT Programme. Aim of the project is to address the challenge of implementing good quality standardized file formats for preserving data content in the long term. The main objective is to give memory institutions full control of the process of the conformity tests of files to be ingested into archives. The third phase of the public PCP launched by PREFORMA started on 16 February 2017, with the virtual kick-off meeting of the testing phase. After an analysis of the results achieved and of the software released by the three suppliers that completed the prototyping phase in January 2017, the PREFORMA Evaluation Committee decided to award all the three consortia with a new contract. This phase will last until end of July 2017. This will be added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracer™. This will be added to World Wide Web Reference Subject Tracer™.
