Dun & Bradstreet
https://www.dnb.com/

They have the largest global commercial database on the planet, but ultimately, that’s not our business. What we’re really about is helping our customers build smart relationships. n a networked world, the stronger your relationships are – and the more strategic your associations – the more value you’ll be able to deliver to buyers. Their data and analytics bring distinct clarity to our customers’ relationship-related decisions…whether these relationships involve buyers, prospects, suppliers or partners (potential or actual). But we don’t just dump business data on your doorstep. They find truth and meaning in that data, delivering insights on your key relationships, however and wherever you want them. With Dun & Bradstreet, it’s easier to choose the most promising companies to move forward with…and the riskiest ones to leave behind. This will be added to Financial Sources Subject Tracer™. Perspective – Host Better Conversations

Perspective – Host Better Conversations
https://www.perspectiveapi.com/

Discussing things you care about can be difficult. The threat of abuse and harassment online means that many people stop expressing themselves and give up on seeking different opinions. Perspective is an API that makes it easier to host better conversations. The API uses machine learning models to score the perceived impact a comment might have on a conversation. Developers and publishers can use this score to give realtime feedback to commenters or help moderators do their job, or allow readers to more easily find relevant information. They will be releasing more machine learning models later in the year, but their first model identifies whether a comment could be perceived as “toxic” to a discussion. Perspective is in the early days of research and development. This will be added to Information Quality Resources Subject Trace™. LLRX> Guide to Privacy Resources 2019

November 10, 2018

LLRX> Guide to Privacy Resources 2019
https://www.llrx.com/2018/10/guide-to-privacy-resources-2019/

This guide by Marcus P. Zillman is a comprehensive listing of free privacy applications, tools and services that users may implement across multiple devices. These applications are from a range of sources that include small and large tech companies as well as subject matter specific websites, consumer industry groups and organizations. The focus of this article is on leveraging the latest technology and information that allows users to: (1) identify privacy issues and (2) implement privacy protections specific to their requirements, that span email, phone calls, chats, text messages, web browsing, computer drives and files, networks, collaboration spaces, and your photos. It is critical that users remain vigilant regarding privacy issues and to understand that it is increasingly the responsibility of the user/customer to actively identify and exercise controls (and to follow those controls applied in the workplace) to limit, block or otherwise curtail access to your organization’s network, as well as to your personal data, email, social media, personal identifying information (PII), search histories, IM/chats, e-commerce transactions, and identity management actions. Each of us must take the time to determine the risks that are present in our use of the web, and proactively implement services to add requisite layers of defense against malicious actors as well as organizations that are aggregating our data outside the scope of our knowledge. The uses of aggregated data include: marketing and sales, spam, phishing, and to undermine legitimate communications between individuals, teams, groups, organizations. The resources in this guide are in a sense a pick-list from which you may choose based on whether online privacy is a matter that is important enough to spend time exploring your options from among the many tools available. In addition, you must determine whether you will accept a certain level of inconvenience to implement security protections that may in some measure slow down the speed of your internet connection.

BibMe™ – The Online Writing Center
http://www.bibme.org/

BibMe™ is an automated citation creator and bibliography generator. It can save you loads of time building and formatting your references, time that is understandably valuable and would be better served working on your paper. Don’t want to spend countless hours typing in information about your educational references, or looking through the style manuals’ rules? No problem! BibMe can find your source from external databases, fill in the information, and then accurately format the citation. Or, if you have the source in front of you, you can enter your entries in manually. Students can also learn how to properly cite their references by consulting the style manual guidelines (and plenty of example citations) on the “Citation Guide” page. Infer.NET is a framework for running Bayesian inference in graphical models. It can also be used for probabilistic programming as shown in this video. You can use Infer.NET to solve many different kinds of machine learning problems, from standard problems like classification, recommendation or clustering through to customised solutions to domain-specific problems. Infer.NET has been used in a wide variety of domains including information retrieval, bioinformatics, epidemiology, vision, and many others. Infer.NET is published as open source on GitHub under the MIT license and also available as NuGet packages. This will be added to Script Resources Subject Tracer™.
