Authorea – Writing Documents for the 21st Century

Write, manage, and publish your documents alongside 100,000+ writers and researchers. Authorea is free to use for public documents. A paid account unlocks unlimited documents, DOI minting and more. Public documents are visible to anybody. Private documents are only visible to coauthors. They founded Authorea in late 2012 with the mission of accelerating scientific discovery. They were frustrated that other writing tools didn’t fully understand the needs of researchers — especially researchers in a web-first world — and wondered why the internet age hadn’t yet delivered a modern toolset for scientific collaboration. Authorea is the document editor we always wanted. Thousands of researchers from prestigious universities and institutions around the world use Authorea to make their research findings available to the public in a timely fashion. Authorea offers a number of lightweight publishing options to publish scholarly articles, preprints, conference proceedings, blog posts, and student essays.
