State of the World Report
http://www.worldwatch.org/pubs/sow/2006/

This year, Worldwatch Institute’s annual State of the World report provides a special focus on China and India, examining the global impact as these two nations join the United States and Europe as major consumers of resources and polluters of local and global ecosystems. The fee based report explains the critical need for both countries to “leapfrog” the technologies, policies, and even the cultures that now prevail in many western countries for the sake of global sustainability—and reports on some of the strategies that China and India are starting to implement. Virtual Cave

From the comfort of your keyboard, browse the wonders of the underground! As a caver and photographer for over 30 years, they have collected images from caves all over the world. This site tells the story of caves in words and pictures: what’s in them and how it got there. Because caves are so diverse, they have split them into four underground realms. Grab three sources of light, a helmet, some sturdy boots, and your mouse, and have fun exploring – there LOTS to see! Please treat all caves with respect as these fragile formations are easily damaged. Their motto is: “cave softly and leave no trace of your visit.” This has been added to Reference Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.

Riya – Photo Search
http://www.riya.com/

They started this company after realizing that they had 1000’s of digital photos on their computer all labeled DSC0009.jpg, that their friends just never remembered to send them the photos they wanted from them, and that searching for images on the web just doesn’t work very well. They are a group of determined face recognition and text recognition researchers and engineers who believe it is time for a new type of photo search that uses technology to look inside and automatically tag photos. They hope this will revolutionize how people “see” the world. This will be added to the search engine section of Internet MiniGuides 2006.

SMTP receivers verify the envelope sender address against this information, and can distinguish authentic messages from forgeries before any message data is transmitted.
