FeedTheNetwork.com provides its visitors with more than one-hundred thousand links to audio and video files. While their focus is on providing links to such audio and video content, the same principles which we’re using could also provide an up-to-date reference of PDF files, images, compressed archives, and other types of files. AquaMinds Note Taker
http://www.aquaminds.com/home.jsp

NoteTaker is powerful new OS X software for organizing your information lifestyle, your digital workstyle. At its most basic level, NoteTaker is a personal note and idea organizer. With NoteTaker, you can make a list, organize an outline or jot down an idea. It’s that basic. But with everyday work and lifestyle demands, our information needs are far more complex and diverse. And NoteTaker reflects this reality so that users can add and change the content and use of their information as needed. NoteTaker’s user interface metaphor uses a visually rich “spiral” notebook pages with section tabs. Some users will simply have one tab and a long list of outlines while others will organize entire project and research journals with many sections and many pages within those tab sections. And it makes no difference how you decide to organize and use NoteTaker, it’s flexible yet easy to understand. It’s like having electronic paper on your OS X desktop. In short, NoteTaker applications are unlimited. From managing the daily to do list information to sharing a project team binder across the Internet, NoteTaker becomes the software of our everyday lifestyle. Use it to communicate ideas. Organize personal information. Keep a project journal. Think on paper. NoteTaker is software you’ll want to use every single day. ChemIDplus Database

March 09, 2006

ChemIDplus Database
http://sis.nlm.nih.gov/chemical.html

ChemIDplus is a database of over 375,000 chemicals, synonyms, structures, regulatory list information, and links to other databases and is a free, web-based search system that provides access to structure and nomenclature authority files used for the identification of chemical substances cited in National Library of Medicine (NLM) databases, including the TOXNET® system. ChemIDplus also provides structure searching and direct links to many biomedical resources at NLM and on the Internet for chemicals of interest. The database contains over 379,000 chemical records, of which over 257,000 include chemical structures, and is searchable by Name, Synonym, CAS Registry Number, Molecular Formula, Classification Code, Locator Code, and Structure. There are two new versions of this database. The ChemIDplus Lite version is available for simplified Name and RN searching without the need for plugins or applets. ChemIDplus Advanced allows chemical structure and biological/chemical property searching to be done. To use ChemIDplus Advanced, you will need a web browser that has a recent version of Java installed. There is a structure drawing and display applet named Marvin from Chemaxon which is available as a default. An alternative method to provide the capabilities needed to accept a structure query is the Chime plug-in which allows you to view the structures. A compatible structure drawing package such as ISIS/Draw will allow custom structure queries to be drawn. The Locator Codes are hyperlinked at the substance or web site level to biomedical databases at NLM and on the Internet and to the SuperList compilation of chemical substances of interest to Federal and state regulatory agencies. Ease of navigation from the Locator Display Page to these other Web sites and vice versa is a characteristic feature of ChemIDplus. For advanced searchers, there are three types of structure queries: Substructure Search, Similarity Search, and Exact Structure Search. ChemIDplus facilitates structure searching by providing two options that eliminate the need to draw the structure queries. One option, Use Structure for Query, pastes the retrieved structure from a previous query to the Structure Input Box while the other option, Use Structure for Similarity, starts an immediate search for similar structures. This will be added to Healthcare Resources 2006 Internet MiniGuide. This has been added to Research Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.
