International Journal of Older People Nursing is an international forum for advancing knowledge in gerontological nursing. The Journal publishes scholarly and accessible material that challenges assumptions and provokes new ideas, helping nurses develop and inform their practice and engage in the debates about the health and social care services for older people. The journal consists of two sections: scholarly, peer-reviewed original articles, and peer-reviewed practice development. Within the practice development section are three commissioned scholarly papers: a literature scan, a paper on applications to practice and a review paper. Each issue features practice development on a key aspect of older people nursing. The Editors welcome scholarly papers on all aspects of older people nursing, including policy, management, education and research related to practice. This will be added to Healthcare Resources 2006 Internet MiniGuide.

Hamachi – Secure Mediated Peer To Peer

Hamachi – Secure Mediated Peer To Peer
http://www.hamachi.cc/

With Hamachi you can organize two or more computers with an Internet connection into their own virtual network for direct secure communication. Hamachi is a UDP-based virtual private networking system. Its peers utilize the help of a 3rd node called mediation server to locate each other and to boot strap the connection between themselves. The connection itself is direct and once it’s established no traffic flows through their servers. Hamachi is not just truly peer-to-peer, it is verifiably secure peer-to-peer. Believe it or not, they state that they are able to successfully mediate p2p connections in roughly 97% of all cases they dealt with so far (few tens of thousands as of early March). This includes peers sitting behind different firewalls and/or broadband routers (aka NAT devices). It is high-tech and it is really cool 🙂 This has been added to the P2P section of Deep Web Research Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.
