Duck Duck Go is a search engine with less garbage and better results. In addition to links, they have: a) Zero-click info, e.g. Techcrunch; b) Related topics to explore, e.g. Futurama; c) Do ambiguous keyword detection, e.g. apple, d) Label official sites, e.g. Demetri Martin; and e) Simplify links, e.g. Gabriel Weinberg.
