Globalization, Competitiveness and Governability (GCG), published by Georgetown University and Universia, aims to become a source of new ideas about the effects of globalization on the competitiveness and governability of businesses and countries in Latin America, and particularly on the tools available to managers and politicians to design better strategies to benefit their respective businesses and countries. The journal is aimed at the people with responsibility for governing companies or managing public or private bodies and institutions, and its goal is to provide such people with original ideas and innovative proposals to help improve the competitiveness and governability of companies and Latin American countries in a globalized world. Also aims to serve the regions academic and scientific communities by becoming the publication of reference for new ideas. It will do this by facilitating communication among the various Latin American academic communities, bringing them closer together and structuring them around the study of specific areas, duly analyzed by means of theoretical contributions, practical applications, and real case studies. The journal pursues the following goals:

* to analyze globalization and competitiveness as determining factors in the region, and offer adequate solutions;

* to put into perspective the variables of global competitiveness, such as international standards, quality service and benchmarking;

* to emphasize the link between international and domestic public policy and countries performance;

* to explore differences and generate consensus regarding the roles and responsibilities which international institutions should hold in relation to global affairs;

* to respond to international current events by providing information and analyses; and

* to promote strategic dialog about the public policies affecting the region among progressive academics, organizations with defined interests, businesspeople and people with positions of responsibility in government.

Submissions may be written in Spanish, English or Portuguese. Globalization, Competitiveness and Governability (GCG) is available free of charge as an Open Access journal on the Internet. Abstracts available online. Articles available in HTML and PDF format.
