Canadian Journal of Law and Societyseeks to promote and publish original research on law and normative orders understood as social phenomena. The Journal is interdisciplinary in scope, calling for a variety of perspectives and methods. Founded in 1985, the Canadian Journal of Law and Society (CJLS/RCDS) was initially based at University of Calgary’s Research Unit for Socio-Legal Studies. Since 1990, the Journal has become affiliated with the Canadian Law and Society Association. Its editorship was at the same period transferred to University of Quebec in Montreal. CJLS/RCDS became biannual beginning with Volume 7 (1992), and certain issues have been thematic since then.
