Academia.edu allows academics from around the world to connect with each other through their papers, CVs, and research interests. I think that Academia.edu is an effective researching tool and could greatly appeal to visitors that often check your blog. Academia.edu was founded by a team of people from Oxford, Stanford and Cambridge Universities. The aim is for the site to list every academic in the world, together with their university and department affiliation. Academia.edu enables academics to: a) See who’s researching what; b) Keep track of the latest developments in their research area – the latest people, papers, talks and status updates; c) Browse the ‘tree’ of academics around the world, according to what university/department they are affiliated with in order to connect with other researchers; and d) Have an easy-to-maintain academic webpage to share their research and academic activity.
