Collarity – Searching with Social Collaboration
http://www.collarity.com/
Collarity begins a real time, two-way dialog to guide and optimize your search. As you begin typing, we provide relevant keyword suggestions and URLs via the Collarity Compass. The Compass contents instantaneously refresh with every change to the searchbox. To add one of the suggested Compass keywords, just point-and-click — and it’s automatically appended to your query. Simple filtering is also available on the Compass. As you use the Slider, it refreshes real-time among three groups: Global, which includes all Collarity users; Community, which shows “like-minded” community users; and Personal, which is based on your previous search experience (And Personal is available only if you sign up, and are logged in). People learn from other people. Other social classification systems depend on tagging, rating, and bookmarking. Yet these systems can introduce new biases and inefficiencies of their own. Because there’s an active minority defining what’s good for the majority, a large number of user segments remain unrepresented. With Collarity, every user is an information consumer and provider. Every user contributes to the benefit of every other user, and the collective intelligence of the whole is harnessed to improve the success of the individual. This happens naturally, and patterns are statistically created based on what’s searched. This has been added to Social Informatics Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.
