The 23rd edition of the Interagency Council on Information Resources for Nursing (ICIRN) Essential Nursing References list is presented as a resource for collection development and for use in locating nursing information. The list includes print, multimedia, and electronic sources to support nursing practice, education, administration, and research activities. The most recent editions or websites available are included. Updated price, publisher, and supplier information can be obtained by consulting standard sources such as Medical and Health Care Books, Serials in Print, Encyclopedia of Associations, and individual websites. As the Internet has become a key reference tool, a new section, “Meta-Sites for Nursing Information,” points to gateways for exploration. Other new sections are “Evidence-Based Practice Resources,” “Complementary and Alternative Medicine,” and “Current Awareness.” This has been added to Healthcare Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.
