As a basis for the policy work of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN), a considerable amount of background research and analytical work is carried out within ECFIN. The purpose of this newsletter is to raise awareness of DG ECFIN¹s economic analysis and research activities among the international economic research and policy community. It reports on the results of research undertaken or sponsored by DG ECFIN and informs about ongoing and planned research priorities. The research letter also presents methodological and analytical tools that ECFIN is developing with a view to their being used more widely by the research community in the future.
