The Hastings Center is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit bioethics research institute founded in 1969 to explore fundamental and emerging questions in health care, biotechnology, and the environment. The Hastings Center Report welcomes manuscript submissions that address ethical concerns in medicine and the life sciences. Prospective contributions should be clearly written and of interest to a broad readership. Contributions may take many forms:

* articles that explore philosophical and ethical issues in medicine, healthcare, technology, medical research, the use of human subjects in research, and the environment;
* reports or reviews of empirical studies that implicate relevant philosophical and ethical questions;
* short, provocative essays; case studies (which may be accompanied by commentary on the case);
* personal narratives about receiving or providing health care;
* and brief commentary on relevant events in the news.
