The Forum for Global Health Protection is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, set up in close association with, but independent from, the UK¹s Health Protection Agency. The Journal of Global Health Protection will publish the latest international research of the highest standard on new and emerging threats to human health. The main areas of interest are emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals and poisons, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, natural and man-made disasters, emerging environmental hazards, and emergency preparedness and response. Content will be determined by novelty and scope of the threat, and scientific excellence. The Journal welcomes investigative studies that promote the understanding of factors involved in the emergence, prevention, and elimination of human health threats. Studies involving animal models will be considered if there is a clear relevance to human health. Studies that appropriately employ multiple investigative techniques are preferred over those that rely on a single methodology. The Journal welcomes papers on the preparedness and response to natural or man-made disasters, environmental hazards, and to human health threats, including those that involve the deliberate or malicious release of chemical, biological, radioactive or nuclear material. Articles on funding, research, and resource allocation, identifying possible present and future deficiencies, are welcome if there is specific relevance to emerging threats. The Journal seeks high-quality submissions from academic, industrial, clinical practice, public health, and government research and planning sectors across all of these areas.
