Oligonucleotides, formerly Antisense and Nucleic Acid Drug Development, publishes scientific papers on original investigations involving the use of nucleic acids or related compounds to alter gene expression. Such investigations could include experiments using antisense RNA or DNA, triplex DNA, ribozymes, RNAi, CpG oligos, or other such molecules. The Journal welcomes papers studying uptake, stability, and mechanisms of action of these compounds in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, and in both in vitro and in vivo systems. The design and synthesis of antisense compounds are of interest, as well as techniques and delivery systems leading to lowered compound toxicity and improved efficacy. Papers discussing ethical, legal, or regulatory issues regarding the area of oligonucleotide development for human therapy are also invited.
