Pleiades Promoter Project
http://www.pleiades.org/index.php
The Pleiades Promoter Project is a project developing and sharing new tools to advance research and therapies for brain disorders. Their primary tools are human MiniPromoters that drive region- and cell-specific gene expression in the mouse brain. Additional tools include expression constructs, mouse embryonic stem cell lines, and knock-in mice all of which carry brain-specific MiniPromoters. Their tools are designed for easy modification of their MiniPromoters into your expression system, or your favorite gene into their expression system. Importantly, they have the expertise to deliver bioinformatically-designed and in vivo tested MiniPromoter tools customized to recapitulate interesting gene expression patterns. Their mission is to enable region- and cell-specific gene-delivery therapies for such devastating diseases as Alzheimer, Parkinson, Huntington, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Multiple sclerosis, Spinocerebellar ataxia, depression, autism, and cancer. This has been added to Biological Informatics Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.
