HyperScan is a pattern matching engine that can match large groups of regular expressions against blocks or streams of data. Ideal for applications that need to scan large amounts of data at high speed, such as Intrusion Prevention (IPS), Antivirus (AV) and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) systems, it runs entirely in software and has been deployed on a wide range of different processors and operating systems. Features include: a) Designed from the ground up for high performance on all supported platforms: makes aggressive use of processor-specific features and scales well on multi-core systems; b) Uses the industry-standard PCRE format for regular expressions; and c) Easy to integrate: HyperScan is a modern software library with a rich C API.
