TekTag is a place for people to discover and share technical content from anywhere on the web. Before they started TekTag, they talked to lots of people, developers, IT staff, users, consultants, and some common themes emerged: how hard it is to find good technical content; what a pain it is to separate the good info from the noise; how forums can be mean-spirited and messy; and how remembering where you found something is often harder than finding it in the first place. Their mission at TekTag is to solve these problems. They started with an empty MySQL database and added tools to let people save the good stuff they find. They layered in tags and powerful search to help make finding things easier. To that they added a dollop of social features and some convenient ways to summarize and syndicate content. But the real killer feature of TekTag is you. Everything on TekTag is submitted by the community. And they depend on their users to help shape and grow TekTag.
