Tradyo is a free mobile app that enables you to buy, sell and barter on a very local level. Whether you are interested in posting your garden produce, handicrafts, haircutting skills or all of that cool stuff gathering dust in your closet, you can find a loving home for it in your neighbourhood (or whichever ‘tradius’ you choose to explore). Tradyo acts like a treasure hunt – a StumbleUpon for tangible things. You never know what you’ll find or who you’ll meet in the process, but you can keep in touch through the app if you discover a great trade buddy! Tradyo is the result of a great experiment in Canadian entrepreneurship. The Co-Founders met each other in the first installment of the Next 36. This team had a vision to create something impactful and zeroed in on the amassed value hiding in our homes and communities that is currently going to waste. The dream is for Tradyo to become a pillar in the collaborative consumption movement, bringing a whole new meaning to ‘shopping locally.’ This has been added to ShoppingBots and Online Shopping 2012.
