UpToDate – Putting Clinical Information Into Practice

UpToDate is specifically designed to answer the clinical questions that arise in daily practice and to do so quickly and easily so that it can be used right at the point of care. Their physician editors and authors review and update their content on a continuous basis and a new, peer-reviewed version is issued every four months. The published evidence is summarized and specific recommendations made for patient care. They do this by producing an educational product, UpToDate, that offers the most practical, most current, most authoritative, and most easily accessible information available on a clinical topic. They seek to integrate the best evidence with the best experience to provide practical and detailed recommendations that clinicians can use and trust. UpToDate is a cooperative effort of thousands of expert clinicians at leading academic centers and is an official educational program of, or offered in cooperation with a number of major medical associations. These include: the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American College of Rheumatology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Nephrology, the American Thoracic Society, the Endocrine Society, and the Society of General Internal Medicine, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. UpToDate is also recommended by the American Academy of Family Physicians. The editorial board for each subspecialty is comprised of the most eminent physicians in the field.
